Take advantage of the new tax credit, which covers 30% of the appliance purchase AND installation costs.

Effective January 1, 2023, through December 31, 2032 purchasers of wood and pellet-burning stoves and inserts with an average HHV efficiency of at least 75% are eligible to claim a 30% tax credit, capped at $2,000 annually. The total cost of the hearth product and installation is included in the 30% tax credit.

The qualifying wood and pellet products must be claimed on the tax return for the year in which the product installation is completed.

Let us help you with your project.  Not all units qualify, so one of the first steps would be to outline your project request and see what appliance would fit your needs.

Which units qualify?

The following Vermont Castings wood stoves:

Aspen®C3 • Dauntless • Defiant® • Encore® • Intrepid® wood stove with performance pack

The following Harman pellet stoves and inserts:

• Absolute43 • Absolute63 • Accentra52i-TC • Allure50® • P43 • P61 • P68

The following Quadra-Fire wood and pellet products:

2100M wood stove - Discovery I wood stove - Trekker pellet stove - Trekker pellet insert - Outfitter I pellet stove - Outfitter II pellet stove

• The new 30% tax credit can be claimed under Section 25(C). Note that it is different than the prior 2021-2023 tax credit that was filed under Section 25(D). • Any product purchased in 2023 that qualifies for the new Sec. 25(C) credit but isn't installed until 2024, can be claimed under the Sec. 25(C) credit on a 2024 tax return.
