Refractory

This is the very same refractory package that I found for sale at almost double the price at BlackSwan. I couldn't believe some of the prices that I saw this refractory going for. I purchased one a couple of years ago. I had to replace it because of a failure within the damper on my stove. I had a screw break, and it damaged my refractory. The first time I had to replace it, was because when I got my stove, used, the refractory had never been replaced, and it was extremely brittle, to the point of removing it, caused it to fall apart. Have a 1997 Dutchwest xlarge stove in which old refractory was literally crumbling apart. Search online quite a bit at multiple stores and found Blackswan had the best prices by at least $20 even with shipping. Order was delayed about 2 weeks due to backorder, but received the product eventually (got several emails from Blackswan keeping me in the loop), and product was in perfect condition. I was surprised the product was only wrapped in bubble wrap (i.e. no cardboard aside from the shipping container) as it is pretty fragile. But this was apparently shipped from 3rd party. Put in stove earlier this week and surprised at what a big difference it made, mostly in getting the temperatures up rapidly in newly lit fire. Would definitely order from this company again in the future.
