Fireplace Remodel: Sandy Hook, CT Project - Birmingham 42
This customer had Black Swan exchange his inefficient zero-clearance builder grade fireplace for a modern energy efficient radiant heat wood burning fireplace.
Black Swan first prepared the area to minimize dust and debris, and then removed the old fireplace. Next, they reframed the area in order to install a Birmingham 42 with traditional brick interior. A TV box was framed over the unit and a woodbox was built to the left of the fireplace. After the fireplace and venting was installed, the face was prepared for finish work.
Finally, Black Swan faced the front of the fireplace with New England style fieldstone, and installed a bluestone hearth in front.
